Which Garmin watch do you have? Let me know!
As I need to figure out which models to release the watch first on, I need to know which Garmin watches does the beautiful KCD community ACTUALLY use. This is so, that I’m not wasting time on trying to get the watch face rendering well on something the equivalent of a Dried Perch in 10 x 10 pixels that nobody uses… So, if you are interested in using the watch face I’m currently working on, please let me know which model you have!

The KCD Watch was originally designed for a 390 x 390 Garmin display, so screen resolution provides a useful first indication of which watches may be suitable for future versions.
✖ No means the display is currently considered too small for the KCD Watch layout. ? Maybe means a version may be possible, but the design would probably need to be resized, rearranged or simplified. ✔ Yes, potentially means the display is large enough for the current KCD Watch design to be a realistic candidate.
Please note: this is not yet a confirmed compatibility list. A green tick means the screen size should be suitable, but individual Garmin models may differ in their support for the data fields and features used by the KCD Watch. Compatibility will need to be confirmed through testing on each model.

Hi all! I’ve just updated a list of Garmin models in this post as a table, to identify the ones that might be an option to do this for. Unfortunately, some already requested models have such small screens that I don’t think it’s viable to have the watch face on them. I also marked some resolutions as a “maybe” – that once the ‘real’ watch is released, I could potentially just simplify some of the features to accommodate for the smaller resolutions. Anything with a 390×390 resolution and over that uses the same data set as my Forerunner 70 does – should not be an issue. Well, shouldn’t… But who knows with these things! We’ll see!

Hi all! I’ve just finished compiling and building watch faces for 7 models as listed on the Downloads page for the first release. And HOLY HELL IT TAKES SUCH A LONG TIME AND IS TEDIOUS.
Please keep the suggestions coming, but after learning how clunky the process of supporting and adding further models is (even if they share the same pixel amount)… I will have to keep the list of supported watches relatively small. Possibly focusing on the newer models to ensure compatibility.

Hey all! I was just about to finish the “initial launch” models mentioned on the downloads. But as there are quite a few here in the comments with similar resolution to the ones I already have, I’ll add these to tonight’s build list as well. Or maybe tomorrow’s. Let’s see how quickly I can do these. But then I need to take a little break from adding more models, as I have no confirmation yet of any of them actually working!!!!! 🥲🥲🥲🥲

Also, if you do go and download one of the watch faces, please give feedback! It’s super valuable. And right now I have 0 feedback of the watch faces at all, although I’ve made 9 available on the downloads page. It should look pretty much like the one I have in the images on this website (which is my own Forerunner 70).
If there are any issues with data not working or showing properly, with the layout or alignment – please let me know.

Also, I’ve had quite a few requests for the older 260 × 260 Garmin models, particularly the fēnix 7 Pro Solar, fēnix 6 Pro and Forerunner 255, as well as some interest in the larger 280 × 280 models. The difficulty is resolution: compared with the 390 × 390 screen KCD Watch was designed for, 260 × 260 has only 44.4% of the pixels, while 280 × 280 has just 51.5%.
The 390 x 390 I have myself, is barely sharp enough to have the full design. Below is my attempt to visualise the number of usable pixels as an area. The 360 x 360 should be possibly doable (though it seems there are only 2 ‘obscure’ models in that resolution size)… But 280 x 280 and below? I think I need to strip features off the watch face and make a “LITE” version.
