KCDWatch.com is a small, independent fan project. I have no particular interest in knowing who you are, what you had for breakfast, or whether you’ve spent the last three hours playing Farkle instead of doing something productive.

That said, running a modern website inevitably involves processing a small amount of information. This page explains what may be collected, why it is collected, who may process it, and what happens to it.

Like most websites, the server and technical infrastructure used to operate KCDWatch.com may automatically process or record basic technical information when you visit.

  • Subscription, confirmation and unsubscribe status

Brevo processes this information on behalf of KCDWatch.com for the purpose of managing subscriptions and sending KCDWatch.com emails.

Subscription emails are currently sent in English.

Your subscription information will not be added to the mailing list unless you have chosen to subscribe.

The legal basis for sending subscription emails is your consent.

You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in subscription emails or by contacting contact@kcdwatch.com.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.

KCDWatch.com does not sell or provide its subscriber list to third parties for their own marketing.

Contact forms, support requests and emails

If you contact KCDWatch.com directly, the information you provide will be used to respond to your enquiry and, where appropriate, provide support.

Please avoid including personal or sensitive information that is not necessary for your enquiry.

Information supplied for a support enquiry will not be added to the KCDWatch.com subscription list unless you separately choose to subscribe.

Downloads

KCD Watch downloads are intended to be available without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information.

Normal server logs may record that a particular download URL was requested, in the same way that other website requests may be recorded.

Ko-fi

KCDWatch.com may contain links to Ko-fi, where visitors can optionally support the project.

Ko-fi is a separate third-party service and processes information according to its own terms and privacy policy.

KCDWatch.com does not receive your payment card details simply because you make a payment through Ko-fi.

Information you provide directly to Ko-fi is handled according to Ko-fi’s own privacy practices.

Affiliate links

Some links on KCDWatch.com are affiliate links, including links to Amazon.

If you follow an affiliate link, the destination retailer or affiliate service may receive referral information indicating that you arrived through KCDWatch.com and may use cookies, referral identifiers or similar technologies according to its own policies.

KCDWatch.com may receive a commission if a qualifying purchase or other qualifying action is completed.

This does not require KCDWatch.com to receive your payment card details or a complete record of your activity on the retailer’s website.

Once you leave KCDWatch.com, the privacy practices of the destination website or service apply.

KCDWatch.com is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of independent third-party websites.

Garmin and KCD Watch data

The KCD Watch watch face displays information supplied by the Garmin device and Garmin’s Connect IQ environment.

KCDWatch.com does not intentionally receive or store your personal Garmin health and fitness information merely because you install or use the watch face.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a future feature, information displayed by KCD Watch – such as heart rate, Body Battery, steps or other Garmin statistics – is processed on the watch for the purpose of displaying it.

The watch face is not intended to transmit that health information to KCDWatch.com.

If a future feature changes how personal or health information is handled, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate before or when that functionality is introduced.

How long information is kept

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to any legal, security or operational requirements.

For example:

  • Server and security logs may be retained for a limited period by the hosting or technical service providers for security, troubleshooting and operational purposes.

  • Comments may remain on the website indefinitely unless they are removed.

  • Support correspondence may be retained where reasonably useful for handling enquiries, maintaining a record of previous technical discussions or resolving disputes.

  • Analytics information is retained according to the settings configured within Google Analytics.

  • Subscription information is retained while you remain subscribed and for any further period reasonably necessary to record consent or respect an unsubscribe request.

The unusually short version

KCDWatch.com doesn’t sell your data, doesn’t run behavioural advertising trackers, doesn’t deliberately collect your Garmin health information, and doesn’t particularly want to know what you get up to in the bathhouse.

Analytics only runs if you allow it.

Emails are only sent to the subscription list if you actually subscribe, and you can escape from those at any time too.

Country detection is used to avoid sending you to completely the wrong Amazon kingdom.
